How Does Hypnosis Work ?

Most of us carry within us the accumulation of a lifetime of big and little traumas that no one completely escapes. As a society we are not very good at processing and releasing these experiences. We prefer to numb and distract ourselves from pain and discomfort.  When we experience something, we remember it and learn a particular behaviour in response. Every time something similar happens, our physical and emotional reactions attached to the memory are repeated. We then reinforce the belief we have associated with the experience and we root these beliefs deep into our subconscious.

During hypnosis, your body relaxes and your thoughts become more focused. In this relaxed state, you will feel at ease physically yet fully awake mentally and may be highly responsive to suggestion. Hypnosis uses focused attention and relaxation techniques to bypass the conscious mind. The conscious mind is where we store judgment, decisions, will power and short-term memory. With hypnosis we can access the subconscious mind. This is where we develop habits and patterns, where we store our emotions, our fears and where we access our self-preservation (fight or flight).  With the aid of beneficial suggestions, hypnosis can enhance your motivation, increase your drive and reduce or resolve specific problems. Hypnosis improves mental attitude and physical reactions in order to optimize your chances of success.
